Spring sunshine and light mornings – this speaks to me! It’s so easy to be up again not too long after 6am (possibly because I am generally asleep by 9:30pm) and this morning it was the perfect weather for a wee soiree on the bicicleta.
It’s very easy for me overdo it, to push myself a little too much over the day because I still feel so well. But after a scare last week where my blood pressure was a little high I was petrified into actually resting (did you know resting means being stationary with your feet up??). We want nothing more than to be at home in our safe place for our little girl’s entrance into the world and high blood pressure is one of the factors that might see us have to make the 1hr 20min journey across to Waikato Hospital.
With resting high on the agenda the past week and James relishing his enforcement role, I haven’t been on the bike at all until this morning. The energy I was “allowed” to expend each day was instead spent on small renovation jobs around the house and bits and pieces on the land that I wanted to get done.
So this morning, with the sun shining favourably, I rode into week 41 of pregnancy with a very slow 10km on the flat around our beautiful Waitawheta Valley.
