Clean, in multiple ways.
Di2 (check out the "control" on the inside of the right hand hood) was chosen in order to keep a clean look as it minimises cables running on the outside of the frame. In addition, Carl wanted to be able to make the conversion to singlespeed hassle-free, which Di2 allows.
The YAWYD top cap is fitted with Tuatara's new 'Eye of Sauron' cap.
So why the brown combo? It started because the silver brakes levers Carl wanted only came with brown hoods. He wasn't convinced the light blue and brown would be a winning combo at first, but it is.

TRP Hylex singlespeed brakes. TRP offer a Di2 adaptor kit to allow mounting of Di2 climbing shifter.
Axiom fenders to "keep the shitty gravel from the rail trail off my arse". Carl says they are a bit of a tight fit paired with Stans Grails and Maxxis Ravagers but are doing the job. The Grails were built up with Hope Pro4 hubs, because "I've always run Hope". [We here at Niner Bikes NZ are fervent Hope followers too].
